What is Cougars Rising?
Cougars Rising is a program designed to affirm and encourage students, promote achievement, increase school spirit and participation, and unify students and staff.
Cougars Rising Bracelets
Student takes his/her Cougars Rising Card to the Attendance Office and submits it in exchange for a Cougars Rising Bracelet (bracelets for the month of September say “Community,” October “Optimistic,” etc.) Additional bracelets are awarded for Honor Roll, Student of the Month, Elite Performer and Performer of the Week, Cougar Elite and Player of the Week, Outstanding Aggie, Perfect Attendance, Teacher’s Choice, and Impact.
Cougars Rising Card
Each teacher/staff member has four cards per month to award to any student who shows excellence. Examples of student excellence: academics, arts, athletics, attendance, campus contribution, character, Cougar Code (word of the month), school programs, school spirit, and perseverance. Staff, fill out a Cougars Rising Card and give to student.
Cougars Rising Awards and Incentives
Cougars Rising Card recipients are entered into weekly drawings for Cougars Rising t-shirts and other prizes. Students who earn at least 15 Cougars Rising Points (earned through number of bracelets received) are awarded a Cougars Rising Patch. Cougars Rising Assembly and Teacher’s Choice Awards Night (with Solid Rock Awards) are held in May.
The Cougar Code
Each month, Cougars Rising will focus on a word that reflects the vision of Weston Ranch High School; the words are the heart of who we are and what we value. Together, the words make up the “Cougar Code.”
