Weston Ranch Football is part of the San Joaquin Athletic Association (SJAA), which competes against the Stockton Unified schools and Linden. Weston Ranch Football currently runs 2 levels of football, Junior Varsity and Varsity with the Freshman level joining the program in the 2023 football season.
1 Team 1 Mission Philosophy
Almost 4 years ago, the Student-Athletes and Coaches of the Cougar Football adopted the idea of we are all 1 Team working together with 1 Mission. Simply put the meaning is that the Football Program, the School, and the Weston Ranch Community are working together to improve the football culture, Student-Athlete performance in the classroom, school exposure through the Cougar Rising program, and better involvement of football in the community.
Rooted in Weston Ranch, Coach Ruiz is a former Weston Ranch High School football player and a graduate of the inaugural Class of 2006. For more than a decade, Coach Ruiz has continued coaching and playing football. Coach Ruiz joined the Weston Ranch Football Program four years ago, working as the Defensive Coordinator and then Assistant Head Coach. He has also coached for several other football programs in the Central Valley and brings a wealth of football knowledge, experience, and player familiarity.
